    • Aidan wrote in November 2005:'I visited here with 7 gay friends in October 2005. We had such a good time here. Its quite sleazy but has loads of atmosphere. It was Halloween so there were alot of guys in fancy dress. There was also a drag show on. A bit difficult for us as it was mainly some old drag queen talking alot about something we couldnt undersatand! A few drag singing acts. We had alot of fun tho. The bar staff here are friendlier than in any of the other clubs. There is a dark room off the gents toilets (if thats your thing). Very dingy but busy. We came back for a second night and had as much fun. You wont find the pretenciousness of Utopia here. The crowd seem more relaxed. Once again hard enough to find. Make sure you turn on your Gaydar!'
    • Jack wrote in November 2005:'Go by taxi. If you wanna funky dance club this is for you. Friendly. Cheap. You'll have a great time.'
    • Jurandi wrote in March 2006:'I was in Warsaw for 5 days. A very nice city and very nice people. In Toro? Only fun! I come back again to Poland! I love Warsaw!'
    • Ferenc wrote in March 2007:'We (me and my boyfriend) visited Warsaw a few weeks ago, and visited also club Toro. The place itself is really crapy, but both the guests and the staff are kind. There was a cover charge of 10 PLN for one person. A Long Island ice tea cost 28 PLN. The music is OK. You can shake your asses for popular international and Polish dance hits. The place is a far minutes walk from square 'Konstitucij'. Can be aproached also by tram from the center. Only one strange moment happened there: They refused a girl couple to enter the club.'
    • Paul wrote in September 2007:'I am a UK guy and went to Toro last night with a straight girl friend. The club was easy to find and the people on the door were welcoming and spoke English well. There is a little court yard outside with tables and people were sat chatting. Inside the doorman told my friend that it was 'men only' downstairs, which I guess means there was some sort of 'dark room' area. Upstairs the bar was lively with a good crowd of people, including woman who were with their gay friends. The bar was spacious and fun and the bar staff cool. The people in the club were mostly male but very friendly and seemed to include all ages. The music after midnight was a bit too 'techno', but the crowd loved it. The doorman were helpful when we left and told u where to get taxis etc. I think this place was like some clubs in th UK, so go and have fun!'
    • Wojtek wrote in November 2007:'Not a fancy, but really fun place. Sensible door selection. Much easier to get in than Utopia, and people are lees snobbish there. Its doing fine.'
    • Mike wrote in May 2009:'On weekends entry fee - 10 or 15 PLN, depending on show.'
    • Jose wrote in August 2009:'Toro is one of the best places in Warsaw. Dark room is nice and very nice boys from all ages. Strongly recommended.'

    • Comment from George, a visitor (July 2004): Hi, last night i was refused entry to Utopia club in warsaw, I'm half lebanese, half english, 32yo, well spoken and dressed and was not drunk. Do they have age limit or color code? I'm a bit dark.
    • Joseph, who visited Warsaw in August 2004 wrote: 'This place is the hottest club that I've been to in Warsaw. This can compare to any hot club in New York City. I partied till 5am. When I left the place was packed. No room for another guest. The dude at the front door will tell you invitation only. You just have to win his heart over and he will let you in. The place rocks. It's decorated very smart. Very young and all goodlooking. Gay/Straight/Bi. The place is a gold medal in Warsaw.'
    • Reply from Slawek, who lives in Warsaw (September 2004): New sickness in town. Utopia and Kokon have door selection. The admission is upon the good or bad mood of the special person on the door called selekcjoner. It doesn't matter who you are and how you look. Last weekend editor of ZERO - the biggest gay magazine in Spain was refused entrance to Kokon. They just DO NOT care who you are. So it was not a sign of racism. Maybe he wasn't dressed enaugh or wasn't bend enaugh or the doormen was in a bad mood or someting else.... I can only say I am sorry but I just don't go to these places.
    • Reply from Dominik, who lives in Warsaw (September 2004): They have strict door policy, and let in only 'trendy' people. It is very often that they do not let poeple in! It doesn't motter what are you, and who are you. Sometimes they don't let in polish TV stars...
    • Comment from Dorothy, a visitor (November 2004): Absolutly awesome place. Everyone told us that there is no chance to get in. Anyway it was one of the busiest Saturdays in Poland - 27 November and my birthday. Few smiles, nice chat and although we didn't have invitations within 5 minutes we were in. What a place - great people and fantastic music and you can dance on the bar. Defo it's impossible in London. We left the place around 5 am and people were still rolling in - amazing. Big kiss to the doorman. One of the best birthday parties i had!!!
    • Comment from Scotty, a visitor (January 2005): Yeah, my partner and I are visiting this week from Houston. We had a nice dinner and decided to try out Utopia this evening. We didn't get our feet in the door before an asshole door dude told us we had to be 'members'. We came back to the hotel to look up reviews and found that others have had the same problem. We are very trendy, nice looking guys and can't figure out why we didn't get in. Regardless of how we looked, these people have a lot of nerve for a repressed gay town like Warsaw. Seems to me they'd be interested in expanding their horizons a little bit.
    • Email from Alex Tylor to Utopia (February 2005): I'll be visiting Poland this summer, and want to have a great time. I've been reading your reviews and want to know what the real deal is... Are you a members only bar or were the complaints on this page lodged by ugly potbellied men, that were simply unworthy? I don't want to waste my time looking for a good bar I want to go to the hot spot the first night.
    • Reply from Utopia (March 2005): Hi, when you will know when you will be in Poland let me know so i can put you on the guestlist as it can be a problem to get in for the first time and you will get entrance or card greetings and welcome to visit Utopia. Grzegorz. Polish: witam jak bedziesz wiedzial kiedy bedziesz w polsce to odezwij sie do mnie wtedy wpisze cie na liste gosci bo pierwszy raz moze byc problem z wejsciem do klubu i otrzymasz wejscowke lub karte pozdrawiam i zapraszam do odwiedzenia utopii. Grzegorz.
    • Denis wrote in September 2005:'I have just visited Utopia this evening as a geust from London and Canada and believe me they have a strict door policy - if you are not drop dead GORGEOUS in the 20 to 25 age range with a muscle bound body you will not be allowed entrance to the club. In fact you have to be muscle bound with glitter on your eyes to enter this PRISS club which undoubtedly attracts the beautiful people of Warsaw. However not even living in London have I experienced anything like this and neither in Canada or the USA. I visited with a friend and we were told to come back later and on doing so were told that only people with VIP passes would be allowed. Not worth the hassle if you wanna get out there and have fun. In fact I am now going to go out of my way and blacklist this venue on every gay site and gay publication I can find as a definate no no.'
    • Roy wrote in September 2005:'After reading some of the coment here, I was quite cautious about going to this club. I couldn't however, quit my wish to go there and so I did. Apparently there was a massive club birthday party going on, so when I learnt that my hopes of getting in were reduced. Surprisingly, I went in with no problem whatsoever. I went straight in, and the doormen greeted me with a smile. The club athmosphere is very trendy. If you visit, make sure you go after 1, as that's the time when everybody starts coming in. Also make sure you dress trendily, smart casual or with minimal taste. The crowd is very young, goodlooking, a bit of an attitude (which is common anyway to gay places). One of the bartenders is just the dream of every gay men in this world. Shame he is straight. Indeed no one is perfect! He was close though. Be ready for lost of pushing and pulling as the night grows. Never I visted a place where people are so rough in getting their way in. The club has got a main small dance floor, and then a few small bars. All of it is very nicely decorated. The music is house-comercial-funk. Lots of eye candy. There were so many goodlooking guys that it really makes it difficult to choose which one is the most handsome. After me, of course! Definetely a nice place to visit if you are visiting the city. It makes us believe that Poland is a very forward country in terms of sexuality. I had a very nice night out and would go again and again. London needs something like this, as someone said.'
    • John wrote in September 2005:'I am in Warsaw this week and although I read about all of the problems people have getting into the club Utopia, I decided to give it a try. Stupid me thought, 'surely they will let me in!' Well, they didn't. I'm certainly no pot-bellied ugly guy (like one comment I saw, haha), and I was definetely a lot cuter than the ugly and rude guy at the door. I even dressed as trendy as I could thinking that would help. It's amazing to me that this club would still call itself a gay club when from what I hear, they turn away about 80% of the gay men that try to enter. Are gay people not repressed and discriminated enough as it is? If they want to be selective, that is fine but please don't call it a gay club. This club can be very damaging to a gay person that has a low self esteem and is then not allowed to enter. Oh, by the way, if you want a picture of me just to know what kind of person they turn away, I'd be happy to send one. Thanks!'
    • Aidan wrote in October 2005:'Again 8 Guys from Dublin October 2005. Visited on our first night in Warsaw. The Club Manager is also the doorman. Very full of his own importance! We did get in and it was great fun. Very hot topless barmen. Music was good. Crowd mixed ages. The staff are extremely "precious" though. The barstaff are very rude. The manager guy walked past me while I was at the bar, I smiled and said hello and he put his hand in my face and told me not to speak to him! I was outraged. Its precious queens such as these that give gay men the bad press. Considering that Poland is recovering from its communist roots and the fact that homosexuality is very underground, people like these should welcome other Gay men and women to their country. Gay guys of Poland - Loose the Bad attitude!'
    • Pablo wrote in November 2005:'I have been in Warsaw many times and I have to say that the most disgusting door gay man, that I ever met before is in Utopia Warsaw. I use to travel a lot and visit nice clubs. They have to learn a bit more to be at an European level.'
    • David wrote in November 2005:'Tried to take Utopia up on the offer of 'call us and we will guestlist you'. Basically was told you have to turn up at the club at 4 p.m. of the day you want to go and get an 'invitation' - so no guest list.'
    • Nill wrote in November 2005:'Three of us were refused entry (despite looking marvellous). Doorman had the manners of a drunken polish pig.'
    • Maximiliano wrote in August 2006:'I am from Argentina. I just arrive in warsaw 3 days ago. I was to utopia disco. I think is the better place in warsaw. Nice music nice people. I was with a friend we pass realy good time. We dont have any problem to go in. I was surprised about becouse I read many guides everyone said that will be almost impossible to go in. We recommend this place.'
    • Luka wrote in September 2006:'Utopia June 2006. Hy, we are two italian guys in visit to Warsaw. The Utopia club is the hottest and beautiful club that there is in Warsaw. We entered on Saturday (10 minutes before 24) and we did not pay any fee. We were trendy and the men in front of the door had no problem for the entrance. The crowd is young and the place very, very nice. In one word: Fantastic.'
    • Dredge wrote in Dezember 2006:'2 young/trendy Americans and our Polish friend went in desinger clothes. Emailed the owner like in the comment but the fat/ugly doorman just ignored me and said 'invitation only'. Stupid but no loss. Then headed to Toro, which was a blast, and probably more local in flavor anyway.'
    • Paul wrote in January 2007:'I wrote to Grzegorsz a week before i went to warsaw and the club replied that my friend and i were on the door list. We arrived about 00:30 and the door police didn't even look at us. So not sure if we were on the list. The club gets busy about 1am and is quite good.'
    • Aik Aun wrote in Februar 2007:'Sorry i havnt visit the place yet. i will visit warsaw on March 2007. i looked in the website where is the place to go, but since i saw this review, i dont think im bother to go. gay club should be fun but not like the way you said no matter who u r they just refuse to let u in, what is the point?'
    • Allan wrote in March 2007:'I hate to be negative about anywhere I visit abroad and especially Utopia as Kris (Friends Guest House) very kindly put four of us on the guest list and I really appreciate it. However, I have to say, if you are in the beautiful city of Warsaw don’t bother with this club. Ok, it’s not a bad little place and the music is quite good. But the way it portrays itself it really needs to be 1000% better. You get attitude from the doorman as soon as you walk in. When we said we were on the guest list they did let us in but only after we were looked up and down with disdain by someone very camp who thought he was a New York (white) rapper! The dance floor was the size of a stamp and it was SO BRIGHT. Please, turn the lights down! There were tacky adverts for Moet champagne everywhere which I think the owners think adds a bit of class but just looks crap (they could have picked better champagne!). The coat-check guy acted like he might get a disease from our coats although I have to say the bar staff were all really nice and smiley (and cute in fairness!). Its not that Utopia is a bad club. If we had just gone without expectations then we probably would have really liked it. But with all the fuss and attitude you get you expect something amazing but amazing its not. I have been to better clubs in every city in Europe and it would be nothing but a quite good bar in London or Barcelona or Berlin.'
    • Jorgen wrote in August 2007:'It can of course be hard to get in. If you think there are several way of getting in some tips. Email with them. Be nice and polite, dress trendy (be aware that trendy in UK might not be trendy in Warsaw! Go there at a time when it is not so busy but when open. Make contact so they remember you and return another night or later the same evening. I love the place. I have been there now 3 years in a row (I go once a year to Warsaw) and tonight I am off there again.'
    • James wrote in September 2007:'I waited a long time to get to Warsaw and to experience gay life there. I was shocked to find such oppression at a gay bar such as Utopia. This bar discriminates against its own people. I have never been refused entry to any gay club in the world except this one. I guess I will never know the real reason why, as the doorman insisted he spoke no English. Yeah, right. Of all the people in the world, the Polish should know about being marginailzed and oppressed. Why would this sort of prejudice be tolerated?'
    • Sondra wrote in September 2007:'Utopia August 2007. Turned away by doorman. Will not be back. Ever.'
    • Wojtek wrote in November 2007:'Probably the best and most sophisticated club in Warsaw and a great interior design. Strict door selection, I know the owner, who is not a nice type, but the place is really exceptional, if you are going there put your best dancing shoes ;)'
    • Mario wrote in January 2008:'After all I read here I'll give up going to Warsaw next summer. I had a totally different idea towards gay tourists in Poland. In Paris, London, Barcelona, Rome, Stockholm and many others, foreigns are welcome wherever they go.'
    • Greg wrote in January 2008:'I was a bit put off by this club because of what everyone said about the entrance rules but I have to say it was pretty easy to get in. We just walked in. The crowd was a lot of fun, not too pretty but not too masculine either. Just a good mix of guys and quite a few girls. The music was great also. Definitely the best place to go out in Warsaw. Only downside was the dance floor is right next to the bar so it's can be very hard to get a drink.'
    • Martin wrote in September 2008:'This place is disappointing! It's said to be the hottest spot in town. But in fact, the people are cocky and definitely overdressed. Uneasy athmosphere. Seriously, who want's to take care about the outfit at 5 am?. The music is the same Euro-house music that you here at gay places all over the world, so indeed nothing special. If you are from a major gay city such as NYC, London, Paris where people are through with fashion rules and where gay people rather prefer to show up topless, that is definitely the wrong place for you besides you are interested in sissies and queens. They probably even won't let you in - but not need to regret. The strange thing is they even refuse entrance to Polish guys although the gay scene in Warsaw has definitely a hard time and would profit from a community that sticks together. Still a long way to go.'
    • Nikita wrote in January 2009:'My friend and me went to club Utopia on 31st December (2008/2009). If I say, that the NYE party was great, I won't say anything! It was mega great!:) Cool interior, friendly atmosphere, good music and good looking and smiling guys and girls, very handsome and kind barmen. The tickets for this party were not so cheap, but it was worth it. Moreover, drinks and snacks were for free and for our surprise the owner of the club (I think he was the owner :) gave me and my friend entry-bracelets to VIP room. It was very kind of him! We read many comments about Utopia before going there, mostly about face control and problems with entrance. Somebody wrote here that everything depends on the guy's mood, who is standing at the doors. Well, we had absolutely no problems with getting in. Naybe cause we bought tickets before the party that evening. Well, I've already said it: We liked the club and people there very, very much :)I will go there for sure when i'm in Warsaw again.'
